In St. Petersburg, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Florida, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

St. Petersburg is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and St. Petersburg follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Finally stopped to check out Terah Gardens and so glad we did! Leelah was a knowledgeable delight and gave us a detailed tour of their beautiful plants and edible food forest. πΏThere were multiple host plants for various butterflies and we saw many fluttering by. π¦Our yard is small so we found several lovely plants to start with for now. Will definitely return for the pipe vine soon.π±π»

Leelah, the lady of the business, beat chatgpt in being more knowledgeable and not bs about Florida ground cover that will improve the soil. This business is better than an AI bot. I tested it. For reals fair prices on great plants that have great soil full of happy bugs. I got butterfly plants along with a great deal on native ground cover I am buying in bulk. Theyre very organized and super knowledgeable. She told me the behaviour of catepillars. Theyre property is beautiful. They understand the order of installation. Definitely go to them if you want to build your unique lively edible garden.

Leelah and Jordan are amazing plant dealers and have a beautiful variety of flowers, including edibles to choose from in their front yard oasisπΏπͺ΄πΌπ»πΈπΊπ±β¨. They are super knowledgeable and have made great suggestions for plants and flowers that have done well, in our volatile climate. Every flower and edible plant we have bought from them has thrived in our yard and has been simple to grow. Highly recommend them as a local small business nursery.

We attended a workshop on growing perennial spinach, where we were introduced to seven amazing perennial spinach varieties, as well as a few other species during the workshop. I was so impressed with the knowledge and passion that Jordan and Leelah both have. They took the time to describe each plant, and then gave us some hands-on experience as they taught us how to take and plant cuttings to grow in our own yards. They took time to answer questions and showed us so many of the cool things that they are doing on their city lot. Highly recommend attending any of the workshops at Terah Gardens!

Jordan came over to assess and implement a watering system to make sure my plants survived and thrived while I was gone. He assured me, after I had concerns about how the sprinkler sprays, that everything would be fine and he would come back and check in a week and adjust if needed. I came back afrer a few weeks and 90% of my plants and fruit trees had died. Well over $600 of damage and he said he would give me $100 to be nice. He said he didn't give me any kind of guarantee, Even though he told me not to worry that he was a professional and that he would adjust if needed. Definitely don't recommend him.
